The parish is chartered by Boy Scouts of America to use BSA’s Scouting programs to provide our community’s youth with character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness. We prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
The parish sponsors units for all youth from kindergarten up to age 21. Click on each unit's name below to open their websites and learn more about how to join. These units all also have Facebook accounts and can be searched online. The head of our Scouting program—the Chartered Organization Representative—is TBD.
Small single-gender groups called Dens are based on school grade and meet usually once a week at the leader’s chosen location to learn, grow, and have fun together. Once per month, all Dens come together as a Pack at St. Clement to share their accomplishments and have large group activities. The unit also enjoys typical outdoor activities, camping, and special events.
Small single-gender groups called Patrols give Scouts an experience in group living and participating citizenship. These small groups determine troop activities through their elected representatives. Scouting provides a series of surmountable obstacles and steps in overcoming them through the advancement method. Scouts plan their advancement and progress at their own pace as they meet each challenge. The Scout is rewarded for each achievement, which helps build self-confidence and the positive experience of helping others.
Venturing Crew 17: Boys and Girls, 9th grade up to 21st birthday
The Crew is a mixed-gender unit designed to give young adults the opportunity to develop and grow on their own terms through Adventure, Leadership, Personal growth, and Service. The youth members set goals, identify necessary intermediate steps, and experience life as an adventure. The program challenges Venturers to step out of their comfort zone while giving them the tools to enable their success.
