According to Paterson Diocesan regulations, a child must have two years of religious instruction prior to the reception of the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist.

Parents are required to participate in the preparation by attending workshops, instructing their child at home and, most importantly, attend Sunday Liturgy on a regular basis with their family.

The Sacrament of First Holy Eucharist takes place in the Spring each year.
