We end our Lenten observation tonight. With the setting of the sun, the sacred three days are upon us. The Easter Triduum of the passion, death and resurrection of Christ is the culmination of the entire liturgical year. The Triduum is considered one celebration. This evening opens the Triduum, which in Latin means "a space of three days". The Easter Triduum begins at sundown on Holy Thursday and concludes with Easter evening prayer at sundown on Easter Sunday; its highpoint is the celebration of the Easter Vigil.
