St. Clement Church’s Religious Education program offers Faith Formation and Sacrament preparation classes for all parish children in grades 1 through 10. All students must be registered with the parish and show proof of Baptism prior to the start of class.

• Level 1: For students entering grades 1-3. This class is the first of a two-year First Communion and Reconciliation Sacrament preparation program. Classes combine traditional classroom instruction with monthly large group activities.

• Level 2: Pre-requisite Level 1: This class is the second year of Sacrament Preparation. In addition to classroom and group activity instruction, students (along with at least one parent) must attend a retreat.  Students will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation in December and the Sacrament of First Holy Communion in May.

• Levels 3 through 6: For students who have received the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, are entering grades 3 through 6, and have attended religious education classes the prior year: These classes focus on continuing the student’s Faith Formation through traditional classroom instruction and large group community service activities.  Each year builds on the prior year to help foster each student’s personal relationship with Jesus, their understanding of the church, and their role as disciples all while building a community within St. Clement Church.

• Family Confirmation Year 1: Pre-requisite Level 6 or RCIC 2  Year 2: Pre-requisite Level 7 or RCIC 1B:  These Confirmation preparation classes are held twice a month. Each month participants will attend one class for students AND their parent(s) and one class for students only. Student/parent classes will include guest speakers, films, topical discussions, and monthly assignments to complete at home. Student only classes will include group service activities, field trips, student teaching and more. Students are required to attend all class sessions and complete Mass Notes and complete 10 hours of community service each year. Students will need to attend a Confirmation Retreat each year. Students will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation at the end of the second year. Per the Diocese, all students of Confirmation age must complete 2 years of preparation classes.  

 The following options may be available based on enrollment.

• RCIC 1 Communion: For students in grades 4 through 8 who have NOT received the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. This is a one year, accelerated sacrament preparation class and students will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation in March of 2024 and the Sacrament of First Holy Communion in May of 2024.  After completing RCIC 1, students can continue their religious education in the Level corresponding to their current school grade.

• RCIC 2:  For students entering grades 7 to 10 who HAVE received the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion but, have NOT continued attending yearly Religious Education. To enter Year 1 of Confirmation Preparation classes, these students must attend 1 year of RCIC 2. This is a rigorous class designed as both a “catch up” class AND Pre-Confirmation class. Students are required to attend weekly Mass and complete 2 hours of service to St. Clement Church.
